Important Message
On 23rd March 2020 the Federal Government suspended all non-essential gatherings  to reduce the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) and to give the community time to understand fully social distancing requirements. Therefore, all parishes in the Archdiocese of Brisbane are required to suspend with immediate effect all Masses, including weekday Masses.

              CELEBRATION OF HOLY WEEK

We are only a short time from the beginning of Holy Week - for many Catholics, it will seem very strange to not be gathering as a community and celebrating our faith as Easter people.

Father Noy is planning resources to be available for you and your loved ones to celebrate Holy Week at home at a time when public liturgy has been suspended.

More information will be available here over the next week.

WHAT HAPPENS NOW?  Mass has been suspended due to COVID-19
If you are unable to physically receive Holy Communion, especially in the midst of this pandemic, make a solemn Act of Spiritual Communion by reciting this Prayer for Spiritual Communion by Saint Alphonsus Maria de Liguori. Keep in mind that repentance for one’s sins is an important step prior to the Spiritual Communion prayer—similar to what we Catholics do during Holy Mass wherein we first ask God for His forgiveness in preparation for the reception of the Eucharist. To do this, begin by remembering your sins, expressing sorrow for having offended God Whom you love, and offering a prayer of true contrition, such as praying the Act of Contrition.

How to make an Act of Spiritual Communion?
  1. Make the Sign of the Cross
  2. If possible, read and reflect on the Readings of the Day
  3. Say the Lord’s Prayer
  4. Pray the Prayer for Spiritual Communion

My Jesus,
I believe You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament.
I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul.
Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally,
Come at least spiritually into my heart.
I embrace You as if You were already there
And unite myself wholly to You.
Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen.
